Earthquake early warning system and a simulator at the 2019 Disaster Conference

Disaster Planning for California Hospitals
The New Norm: Adjusting our Strategies

September 10-11, 2019
Pasadena, CA

Can’t attend? That’s okay because Live Stream is now an option!

 Full agenda

We had not experienced a significant earthquake in a while … until last week when a series of quakes and aftershocks hit Southern California. It begs the question, “Is my hospital prepared?”

This year’s disaster preparedness conference will cover many areas of readiness, including earthquakes.

A breakout session titled, “Earthquake Early Warning System for the Western States” will be presented on day one of the conference. Speakers will be discussing ShakeAlert, an early warning system that alerts people to an earthquake before it happens. It allows for safety protocol prior to the earth moving and things start falling. Learn about the results of the Cedars-Sinai pilot program results when implementing the earthquake early warning system in their hospital.

In addition, an earthquake simulator will be available on the exhibit floor. The Quake Cottage demonstrates what an earthquake feels like and shows simple steps you can take to prepare your home or office for an earthquake.

Attend training – visit the simulator – talk to peers – Get Prepared.

 Reserve your spot now.

This year we are offing a Live Stream option for those that can’t attend in person. No reason to miss this great conference!
